Prices are the current list evaluation fees in our database (81 plans across 22 firms). Most futures firms bill the evaluation monthly until you pass — set “months to pass & hold” to your realistic timeline. Some firms add a one-time activation fee when you get funded — enter it to see your real out-of-pocket cost to your first payout.
Why the “price” lies
Prop firms advertise a headline evaluation fee, but three hidden multipliers change what you really spend before your first withdrawal:
Coupons — futures firms discount almost permanently (Apex often 80–90% off). The real entry price is the discounted one, not the sticker.
Monthly billing — most futures evaluations are a recurring subscription. Take two months to pass and you pay twice.
Activation fee — a one-time charge ($80–$150 at some firms) when you convert to a funded account.
Enter your plan above and the calculator returns your discounted monthly price, total evaluation cost across the months you expect to take, and your true out-of-pocket cost all the way to your first payout.
Cheapest futures evaluations right now
On raw list price the lowest $50K evaluations in our database are Topstep ($49), Tradeify ($99) and The Trading Pit ($99). But with a coupon the ranking shifts — a heavily discounted Apex or MyFundedFutures plan can undercut a full-price “cheap” firm. Run both through the calculator with their real coupons before deciding, and cross-check our cheapest prop firms breakdown.
Challenge cost calculator FAQ
How much does a prop firm challenge really cost?
The sticker price is only the evaluation fee — from around $49 for a $50K account (Topstep, Tradeify) up to $300–$657 for larger sizes. But the real cost depends on three things most sites ignore: (1) the coupon you apply, (2) how many monthly billing cycles it takes you to pass and hold the account, and (3) any one-time activation fee charged when you get funded. This calculator combines all three into a single true-cost figure.
Are futures prop firm evaluations a monthly subscription?
For most futures firms, yes. Unlike one-off forex challenges, firms like Apex, Topstep and MyFundedFutures bill the evaluation as a recurring monthly fee until you pass. If it takes you three months to clear the target, you pay three times — which is why our calculator asks for “months to pass” instead of assuming a single payment.
What is an activation fee?
Some firms charge a one-time activation (or “funded account”) fee — typically $80–$150 — when you convert from evaluation to a live funded account. It is separate from the evaluation price. Enter your firm’s activation fee in the calculator to see your true cost to your first payout.
Do prop firm coupons really work?
Yes — futures firms run aggressive, near-permanent discounts. Apex alone routinely runs 80–90% off. A coupon is applied to the evaluation fee, so a 90% code turns a $167 Apex plan into about $17 for that billing cycle. See our live discount codes for current offers.
